Striide was developed to foster a collaborative environment between parents and children, inspiring youngsters to work towards their desires. It serves as a platform for families to break away from mainstream social networks, coming together to support and celebrate each other's accomplishments in a secure setting.
This app is versatile, catering not only to families but also to teams and groups where coaches or mentors aim to assist and train others. The decline in interactions between parents and children due to digital distractions is a recognized issue. Thus, Striide offers a creative solution by engaging with children more frequently in an enjoyable manner.
Setting up the app on the phone of any family member who wishes to participate – be it a parent, grandparent, or child – allows for the establishment of specific challenges tailored to areas of improvement. Challenges range from demanding tasks like completing “200 pushups daily for 30 days” to simpler goals, such as “offering a kind gesture to mom every day for a week.” Children receive reminders to complete their daily challenges, and upon meeting expectations, they earn predetermined rewards through the app.
Every completed challenge triggers a push notification to parents, guardians, or mentors, notifying them of the child's progress. This immediate feedback encourages positive reinforcement, with parents giving virtual “high fives” to acknowledge their child's accomplishments, fostering excitement for future challenges.
